'I was actually thinking about using 'Give It Up' as a walkout song' - Tom Aspinall jokes after seei

Tom Aspinall is considering changing his walkout song having seen fans chanting his name to the tune of 'Give it Up' outside the O2.

Aspinall was the headliner of a memorable night at UFC London in March, as 17,000 fight fans descended on the Arena to watch him beat Alexander Volkov in the first round by submission.

Shortly after the victory, a video emerged of thousands of fans belting out his name to the 1982 hit by KC & The Sunshine Band, cementing his status as a crowd favourite.

"It was unbelievable and [the video] was recorded by my best friend that I've known for 25 years," the UFC heavyweight told talkSPORT.

"He said he just walked round the corner and literally that was going on and people were going absolutely insane.

"I've watched that video probably about 100 times, so epic scenes outside the O2."

And Aspinall could be serenaded by the song when he takes to the stage at Q&A event called For The Love of MMA in Manchester this weekend

UFC London was Aspinall's first time fighting in the UK since signing with the promotion and the card was stacked with promising British talent, including the dynamic duo of Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann.

Now that he has a taste for the buzz of fighting in front of a home crowd, Aspinall can't get enough and he is desperate to do it again.

"That's every fighter's dream," Aspinall continued. "I was so lucky to be given that opportunity and I want to do it again.

"Maybe I'm getting a bit greedy or something, but that's on the top of my list of things that I want to do again.

"I think there's so much UK talent at the moment that we deserve to have shows in the UK. The absolute buzz and numbers that we bring to the table tops the American numbers."
